How make use of sensors
We will introduce not only ROVs and small AUVs, primarily from Europe and the US, but also a variety of marine survey platforms and sensors used for research purposes.
Hull fouling is a key issue of concern to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). As one solution to this problem, robotic proactive cleaning (regular cleaning) has been developed and is being deployed with the aim of maintaining a consistently clean hull, thereby improving fuel efficiency and preventing the introduction of invasive species.
The manufacturer, GreenseaIQ, based in the United States, has several years’ experience in robotic hull cleaning.
Micro-AUVs (YUCO and MARVEL), developed and manufactured by the French company SEABER, are highly versatile, autonomous AUVs weighing approximately 10 kg that can be deployed with ease.
Equipped with a wide range of sensors, they can be utilised for various applications, including models designed to collect seabed topography data, models for measuring water temperature and salinity, and models fitted with magnetometers.
This is a multi-purpose underwater drone developed and manufactured by the French company Delair Marine.
Importantly, weighing just 10 kg, it can be deployed rapidly; it is equipped with seven thrusters and is capable of diving to a depth of 100 metres.
We will have a working model on display, so please do come and take a look.
