Requirements of Materials for Spacecraft and Future Prospects in Space Development / Utilization Fields
    【Abstract】

The trend of space development and utilization has drastically been changing in Japan. Especially, Space Strategic Fund plays an important role in encouraging new players in this field. In Space development and utilization always needs hardware of spacecraft, that is, materials are a key factor to build spacecraft. Materials for spacecraft such as artificial satellites flying around the earth, explorers in other celestial bodies and deep space must has tolerance in harsh space environments. In this session, the requirements of tolerance in space environments on materials for spacecraft and future prospects in this field are introduced.
