session12:30 ~ 12:40Overview of JST Mirai Project
【Abstract】The development of technologies for detecting health risks posed by waterborne pathogens and chemical contaminants, together with quantitative risk assessment and the identification of critical control points for risk management, has been a major focus of our research. In particular, we are promoting the societal implementation of wastewater-based epidemiology as a tool for public health surveillance and decision-making. Furthermore, by improving water treatment technologies, we are developing cost-effective risk reduction strategies that contribute to the advancement of water infrastructure and support a future society in which everyone can enjoy safe and reliable water. This lecture will provide an overview of these research activities and discuss their potential for societal implementation.
